Walter Carroll JrWalter B. Carroll Jr. – During his 20 years in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Carroll served during the Korean War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was retired from Duke Energy Catawba Nuclear Station and was an active member of First ARP Church of Rock Hill. His sense of humor was one of his many endearing qualities. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lee Carroll; daughter, Lisa Jones; son-in-law, Dr. Kelly Jones; grandchildren, Mason, Hamilton, Jackson, West, Carol, Amanda, Karen, Jody, Jacob, and Kohl; sisters, Gladys Howell, Burnell Hall, Francis Thompson, Bonnie Scism and Jerry Guillard; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel. The funeral will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, at First ARP Church, with Dr. Barry Dagenhart officiating. The burial with full military honors was held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia S.C.
