I have a bunch of pictures of Westpacs 78, 79, 80 or whereabouts. Have pictures of the Samoan B.M. you speak of as when we crossed the equator and became shellbacks, we had to kiss his stomach smeared with chocolate pudding after we crawled through the garbage chute as part of the shellback initiation. Anybody around for this or remember this?? Some of the best memories of my life, but can’t contact anybody who remembers. I think Capt. Batzler was our capt., then another took over, but can’t remember his name. I was a Corpsman striker, then went on to corps school from Thailand in second Westpac, currently a nurse in Iowa. I would love to talk to anybody who served during this time.
