There was a reunion in Jacksonville, Fl. June 27 to July 1st of this year. I was unable to attend. The reunion committee usually plans reunions 2 years in advance. I cannot find anything about a reunion in 2011.
I want to get the info for this past reunion in the website bout ound not get the info in time.Look at the crew member search and add years 1968- 1969 and 1970 and click go.

There is a museum in Ashtabula< Ohio that would love to have the bell.
They are about shipping on the great lakes wth a section for the USS Ashtabula. I donated some of my things including my ring from the ship handrail.
I have the email of the director.I have in the past tried to get the ship’s logs and they are very difficult to deal with. I could have gotten a roster on a given day and they would only give the enlisted men.
I even tried to get the ship’s bell which is in Corpus Christie, Texas and been unable to get anything.If anyone has that citation please input it on this webpage. All could see it and make a copy for themselves..

You can contact someone in St Louis and get a ships roster on any given date. I cannot remember what the department is. Maybe someone knows.
They will not give the officers names tho. You can get the names of all that have signed up for this website. Just type a name or year in the crew search at the top and wallo lots of guys have signed on since I started this website.Paul McGinty 1952-1956

I was aboard from 1952 until 1956. I was a storekeeper. We have contact with lost of 1950’s guys. A lot have gone to be with Davy Jones. We have lots of gunners mates that come to reunions. Give me more names and I will see if I know them.Paul McGinty

We have a reunion for the USS Ashtabula every year the weekend following Father’s day. Next year it is in Independence, Mo and in 2007 it will be in Cincinatti. We have a few pieces of the ship left for first timers to the reunions.
