It was with great sadness that, just today, I discovered that Capt. Ready had passed on. In all my time in the navy, active and reserve, and, later, in the Merchant Marine, I never served under a better man. All of us in the DECOM Crew argeed he was a superb commanding officer- strict, but kind and human at the same time. Many times I remember snapping to attention in the R-Div Pipe Shop, only to be greeted with a kind word. Our affection and respect for him remained constant over the years, and I am exceedingly thankful for being able to see him one more time at the reunion in Augusta. From my family to you, Ma’am, go our profound sympathies, as well as our gratitude for the happiness you gave him, which was clearly evident in Augusta. God Bless and keep you always. Sincerely, Douglas S. Hepler, HTC-USNR (ret.)

12,840 feet. Guess I won’t be SCUBA diving there anytime soon.

Amy & I will be there. Her grandparents live close by, and have “volunterered” to watch the little ones for 2 days.

    Doug.
