Hey Steven… was that near collision during the 75 Westpac? I don’t know if it’s the same one that I remember. We had lines and hoses across and were pumping. One of the ships lost steering and we did an emergency breakaway. I was the ship to ship phone talker on rig 12 (?) the last rig on the starboard side. That’s when I learned NEVER to fasten the strap. I was pulled to the rail as the ships moved further apart and was leaning over the rail a little when I finally flipped the phones away. Of course while I was doing that the span wire came flying back. It sure made for an interesting day!
